This makes it all worth it!

August 1, 2008 at 3:48 pm (Today...)

One of my favorite things about being a mommy is how cute and fun it is to see your baby after waking up from bedtime. CB is very precious and she is so good about giving mommy a few minutes to come and get her after she wakes up. She usually wakes up and talks to herself for a little while (20 minutes) and then you hear softly: ” Ma Ma, Ma Ma,… Ba Ba, Ma Ma, Ma Ma… Ba Ba.” Once I hear this, I giggle and get out of bed to see the most precious face staring at me with a huge smile. These pictures do not do the cuteness justice, but I just had to show you.

I love sweating… during and after a workout

July 30, 2008 at 5:22 pm (Today...)

My new favorite sensation is sweating. I love to feel it drip down my back and under my eyelids. There is something about a good sweat that makes you feel like you achieved something.

As you know I have been working out aggressively to have a somewhat acceptable after baby figure for Hawaii, and I love the habit I am forming. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I walk with a fun group of girls. This is no ordinary walk. This walk is mostly up hill and it kicks my butt every single time. After my walk I enjoy some good conversation, a couple of errands, and then I put my baby down for a nap and continue with some weight training. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday I do Extreme Tae Bo with weights and resistance bands. It is amazing and fun! All of these workouts have gotten me addicted to the feeling of sweating. If I do not sweat hard it it was not a workout. I am even becoming addicted to the length of time that the workout lasts. A 30 minute workout is not ok for me. It needs to at least be 1 1/2 hours of sweating to be a workout.

I think that I am secretly hoping that I will become one of those people who are in bondage to working out because than I would not feel so guilty for eating the way I do.

For those of you who are reading this thinking, gag me 😛 she is ridiculous, all I have to say is: “Thank you, that means so much to me.”

So today I am a little discouraged by my lack of patience. I have been working out everyday for 1 hour for 4 weeks now and I see no difference. This is hard 😦

I had a very poopy day!

July 10, 2008 at 5:24 pm (Today...)

I do not like changing diapers, but especially poopy diapers. I am convinced that my daughters bowels are the same as her fathers because there is nothing feminine about what comes out of there.

Anyway, like most days my daughter had an extremely large poop, and I like most days I plugged my nose, got out the gloves and went to town changing her. But unlike most days I happened to get it everywhere… without knowing it.

I was all dressed and ready for a mid morning trip to target with Beckey when I started changing her too. So I pick her up, pack up our things, and head to the car. I got CB all buckled in her car seat and I look down and she has poop on her arm. So I said to myself, “Ew… that is gross,” and cleaned her off. Then I reach down to grab the diaper bag and there is poop on the bag. Now I am thinking, where is it coming from? Then to my dismay and apparently horrible sense of smell I look down only to find poop all over my shirt.

This was unfortunate, I started backtracking and I realized that this was probably why I had a brief and awkward conversation with my neighbor. He saw the poop and ran!

After cleaning myself off, and my child, and the diaper bag we were off to the Spectrum. We had a great time in Target and a wonderful walk to Wahoo’s for lunch. Oh, but in my search for a child accommodating table a bird poops all over my babies stroller. To which I say, “of course, why wouldn’t that happen today?” I think bird poop is so disturbing, maybe more than human poop. It was very hard to enjoy lunch after all the pooping that had taken place.

Now I can say that I am clean, my baby is clean, and the stroller is clean.

Quirky things…

July 3, 2008 at 5:40 pm (Today...)

Ok, so I just got tagged by Beckey to write about 6 quirky things that I do or have. I am an incredibly quirky person so this shouldn’t be that hard.

Here it goes, but they are in no particular order:

1. I Looove to clean out my ears. It is a minor obsession. I do it everyday unless I can resist the temptation not to which is rare. My doctor told to stop because I am wearing down my timpanic membrane and I think you need that. I still do it, though. Anyone who has ever lived with me knows that when I clean out my ears, we don’t talk.

2. I have tons of clothes, but I wear the same 5 outfits. Most of them are sweat pants. Don’t ask me why. Well maybe it is because I am in bondage to habit.

3. I eat bean and cheese burritos at least 5 times a week. Not changing this, they are awesome.

4. I love to imitate people on T.V. I make my husband laugh , just by imitating the crazy people on T.V.

5. I can be bossy, but I am also aware of it. Sometimes when I am with Chris I will say something bossy or controlling, and before he can give me the disapproving look I make fun of myself by re-saying it over dramatically just so he knows I do not take myself too seriously. It works, it usually diffuses his frustration with my bossiness.

6. O.K. don’t judge me… I eat Velveeta cheese on my Turkey and Mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving. There… it is out there.

Ok, so who should I tag… I tag you

and Jamye Jack!

Working with Daddy

July 3, 2008 at 5:13 pm (Today...)

So this week I took CB to daddy’s work so he could show her off. I got her all dressed cute so she could be nibbled on by all his collegues. It was fun and Chris really enjoyed it. Chris is really funny at work because he is a neat freak. He hates it when people sit at his desk and mess things up. I was secretly hoping CB would reorganize a couple things in her attempt to learn about daddy’s work, but he did a great job keeping her contained. Here are some pictures:

I look like my daddy!

Daddy can I type something?

That’s interesting daddy…

Ok mom, I am all done working now.

Thanks everyone at Chris’ office for loving on our baby!!!

Alright, no more excuses…

June 27, 2008 at 6:21 pm (Today...)

Going to Hawaii and I have to get in shape. Wish me luck.

Here I am the last time I was in Hawaii, on my honeymoon. I am gonna do it. I am going to be the hottest momma there.

I better go downstairs and sit on my couch to think about the best way to get in shape. 🙂

I’m Blue :(

June 23, 2008 at 2:45 pm (Today...)

My best friend, Beckey is out of town this week. At first I was excited about her week away, but now I realized that my walking, talking, window shopping, and play date buddy will not be available for ONE WHOLE week.

That is a long time and I do not like it 😦

Have a great time in San Francisco, Beckey, but just know that you are missed and it is only Monday!
