The First Time
It is amazing to think about how we all had to learn everything we know how to do. There was a first time for everything that we can do today. I cannot believe that there was a time where the only thing I knew how to do was eat and sleep. Having a child of my own has given me the privilege of witnessing a lot of firsts. It is the little unprovoked moments that are so amazing. This evening I watched my little one work so hard to get one of her toys into her mouth. She has an exersaucer with lots of overstimulating sites and sounds, but one caught her eye and she spent the next fifteen minutes working to get this specific toy into her mouth. There are many other toys that are much closer and easier for her to grab, but it had to be this one. I can’t help but wonder why it had to be this blue bird. This bird is attached to her exersaucer and it hangs in a trio with other birds that are also easier to grab. She would reach and reach with her mouth wide open and her hands extended as far as they can go. I loved seeing her face once she got it into her mouth. “Victorious, I can do it,” is probably what she was thinking.
I hope I never take these little moments for granted. I loved watching her try on her own. Here are some pictures of the moment.

Desert Trip
We recently took a mini vacation as a family to Palm Desert and it was amazing. I love it there. It is a very nostalgic place for me. Anyway, we just relaxed and introduced CB to the swimming pool which was very fun and oh, so cute. It was also CB’s first time with sweet potatoes. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy! Oh and by the way, I cannot figure out how to organize pictures on this darn blog
So sorry they are not more orderly.
6 Months old, We love you CBK!
Wow how time flies. I am remembering all the anxiety I felt anticipating your arrival. Would I be a good mommy to you, and would I be able to make you laugh. Would you look like your daddy or me. Now you are such a big girl. Sitting up has given you a new view of your world. Your eyes are filled with wonder and amazement with each new sound and sight. You look just like your mommy and daddy combined which makes you perfect in every way. You love to roll over and play games with your toys. You have learned how to take your pacifier out so you can chew it and then put it back in when you want to suck again. (this is hilarious to watch). Anything that is within reach must be in your mouth so you can chew on it. You are a busy baby and in no time you will be crawling all over. You love to smile and laugh when someone does something silly, and your full body smiles are contagious. The sound of your laughter makes mommy and daddy’s heart melt. You love hugs and kisses, which is good because you get a lot.
Watching you learn and grow has taught me so much and it is a joy to be with you everyday. We love you CBK.
